Why Corn?

Corn kernels are large, nutrient-rich, and hold moisture well without bursting, which makes them a robust and forgiving spawn grain. Each kernel carries plenty of energy for strong, vigorous mycelium, and the grains stay loose and easy to break apart after colonization. It's an excellent choice for aggressive species and for producing hearty spawn for bulk substrate.

Ready To Inoculate

Each jar is prepared and autoclave-sterilized under controlled conditions, then sealed and shipped ready to use. Wipe the injection port with isopropyl alcohol, flame-sterilize your needle, and inject 1–3 ml of liquid culture or spore solution.

Reusable & Autoclave Safe

Both the Bormioli jar and the lid withstand autoclave and pressure-cooker cycles. Once your harvest is done, clean the jar, refill it with fresh grain, and sterilize it again. It's a durable, eco-friendly alternative to single-use spawn bags.

Suitable For

Oyster, Lion's Mane, Shiitake, Reishi, King Oyster, Pioppino, Enoki, and other gourmet and medicinal mushroom species.

How To Use

Sanitize the injection port with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Inject your liquid culture or spore syringe. Incubate at 21–26°C, away from direct light. Shake the jar at about 30% colonization to speed up growth. Once fully colonized, spawn to bulk substrate or use for grain-to-grain transfer.

Storage

Store in a cool, dark place and inoculate as soon as possible after receipt for best results.
