⚠️ IMPORTANT: THIS IS A MYCORRHIZAL FUNGUS

Tuber melanosporum (Périgord Black Truffle) is a mycorrhizal fungus, not a saprophytic mushroom. It cannot be grown on grain, sawdust, straw or logs like oyster, shiitake or other gourmet species. It only fruits in symbiosis with the living roots of a host tree, such as holm oak (Quercus ilex), downy oak (Quercus pubescens), hazel (Corylus avellana) or hornbeam, planted in calcareous soil (pH 7.5–8.5). Please read this description fully before purchasing.

🍄 WHAT YOU GET

You receive a syringe of live Tuber melanosporum liquid culture, prepared in a sterile environment and ready to use. This syringe is intended for three purposes:

Starting your own culture: transfer to agar or fresh liquid media to keep and expand Black Truffle genetics in your lab.
Collecting: a reference culture of one of the world's most prized truffle species, for mycologists and collectors.
Inoculating host trees: mycorrhizal inoculation of host seedling roots using the proper technique (see below).

✨ HIGHLIGHTS

Live liquid culture of Tuber melanosporum, the Périgord Black Truffle
Prepared with aseptic technique in our Italian mycology laboratory
Suitable for agar transfers, culture banking and mycorrhization experiments
Compatible with classic truffle host species: Quercus ilex, Quercus pubescens, Corylus avellana, Carpinus
A rare species for advanced growers and collectors

🔬 HOW TO USE & STORAGE

Shake the syringe gently before use. For culture work, inoculate agar plates or sterile liquid media in a still-air box or laminar flow hood. Truffle mycelium grows slowly, so expect weeks rather than days. Store refrigerated (2–8°C) and use within a few weeks for best vitality.

Please note: truffle cultivation is a long-term project. A truffière usually needs 5–10 years from planting before it produces, and results depend on soil, climate, host tree and technique. This product is a culture of live mycelium and does not guarantee truffle production.

📦 SHIPPING & TRUST
